Meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month, March through November at the Edinburg Town Hall. The Edinburg Historical Society has been a viable part of the Edinburg community since 1975. The purposes of the Society are as follows: to promote and encourage historical research; gather, preserve and display materials relating to the history of the area; make materials accessible to the public; and to promote community involvement and awareness of the rich heritage of Edinburg. The Society maintains two museums, The Nellie Tyrrell Museum and Edinburg Rural Museum. The displays and exhibits in these museums have been continually improved upon every year and offer a view of life in our community's earlier times. Membership requires only an interest in history, past and present. Meetings are open to the general public.
