| The Town of Edinburg provides refuse, reuse and recycling services to Edinburg residents. John Olmstead is in charge of the collection program and facility. The Recycling, Reuse and Refuse Collection Center hours are: Friday 9:00am to 3:00pm May through October (Closed Fridays November through April). Saturday 9:00am to 3:00pm |

Refuse Collection The Town of Edinburg collects household refuse at roadside each week. The North Shore Road side of the lake is collected on Monday and the South Shore Road side on Tuesday. Refuse must be in a can no larger than 33 gallons or bagged and placed in a wire mesh bin. Garbage may not be placed in loose bags at roadside. Please place in Clear bags. Garbage that contains mandatory recyclables will not be collected. Cans must be placed at roadside no earlier than 5pm the day before collection and removed by noon the day after the collection. In the event of a Monday Holiday or severe weather, collection is moved ahead to Tuesday and Wednesday. Holiday schedules are published in the Edinburg Newsletter and on Cable Channel 71. In 2008 collection days will be changed for holidays in the following weeks. Refuse will be collected on Tuesday and Wednesday in these weeks unless noted otherwise.

Recycling Collection The Town of Edinburg collects recyclables at roadside on Thursdays. Mandatory recyclables are: clean and dry newspapers, clean tin cans (helpful to flatten), clean glass with lids removed, plastic bottles with necks (that can be poured from). In addition the town will collect: clean and dry corrugated cardboard, office paper and batteries. Cardboard must be flattened. Recyclables must be placed loose in a blue plastic recycling container no larger than 24" by 18"and not more than 15" deep and it should have drainage in the bottom. Please DO NOT put items in plastic bags. All items must be clean and dry. * There will be no recycling collection Nov. 22nd and Dec. 27th
The reuse center accepts items in good
condition for reuse. Examples include: appliances, furniture & house
wares. Items not accepted include: upholstered furniture, clothing,
toilets & sinks. |
